Picture of the upcoming Suzuki S-Presso has surfaced online, a few weeks before the launch in the Indian market. The new Suzuki S-Presso will go on sale in the Indian market on the 30th September 2019 and will be positioned above the Alto K10.
According to Autocar India, the S-Presso will be an SUV-inspired small car and will directly rival the Kwid. The new S-Presso is said to be 3565mm in length, 1520mm in width and 1564mm in height. It will have a wheelbase 2380mm and a ground clearance of 180mm. Comparing this to the Renault Kwid, the S-Presso is 114mm shorter, 59mm narrower and 86mm taller than the Renault hatchback.[gallery size="full" ids="11463,11462"]The S-Presso retains the same silhouette as previewed in the Future S concept that debuted at Auto Expo 2018, but misses out other details. An interesting contrast is the squared-off front end and the headlights. The angular chrome elements in the grille resemble the Vitara Brezza. Other notable design cues are the prominent front wheel arches, a blacked-out B-pillar, a black front and rear bumper, and muscular haunches.
Powering the S-Presso will be a BS6-compliant, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, K10B engine, which is currently available in the Alto K10 but in a BS4 iteration. In Alto K10, the powertrain delivers 68 hp and 90 Nm of torque and is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional AGS (auto gear shift). The S-Presso will be launched in the Nepalese market by October. Pricing will start from Rs 22.99 lakhs and it will be available in 4 variants.
